Owner and Teacher, Alicia Winter

Alicia was born in Colorado and grew up in Texas. She often visited New Orleans and quickly fell in love with its people, culture, and everything the city had to offer. Her husband, who is originally from England, was drawn to New Orleans’ European charm, and together they decided it was the perfect place to begin their life together.

Teaching has always been an important part of her life and something she has been interested in for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she was the town babysitter, so caring for children was something she picked up early in life, so it was no surprise to anyone when she decided to make a career of it and major in education. Alicia graduated Cum Lade from University of Houston with her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Early Childhood – 6th grade. After graduation she had the opportunity to work at Kipling Street Academy and taught Pre-k 4 for five years. Alicia always wanted to make a difference with children by helping them grow into confident and strong individuals. She decided to open her own childcare preschool so she can make sure every child in every classroom is learning the best way they can.

When Alicia is not in the classroom she enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, making crafts, running and eating all the wonderful foods that New Orleans has to offer. Teaching has always been a central part of Alicia’s life, something she’s been passionate about for as long as she can remember. As a child, she was known as the neighborhood babysitter, developing a natural love for caring for children early on. It came as no surprise when she chose to turn that passion into a career and pursue a degree in education. Alicia graduated cum laude from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Early Childhood through 6th Grade. After graduation, she joined Kipling Street Academy, where she taught Pre-K 4 for five years.

Alicia has always been committed to helping children grow into confident, capable individuals. Her desire to make a lasting impact led her to open her own childcare and preschool, where she ensures that every child in every classroom has the opportunity to learn in the way that suits them best.

When she’s not in the classroom, Alicia enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, crafting, running, and sampling the many wonderful foods New Orleans has to offer.

She has a special gift for making children and parents feel comfortable and at ease in her presence. I’m honored and grateful that we have had her in our lives.

“I can’t think of anyone more qualified to work in childcare.”

“I’m very pleased to recommend you Ms. Alicia as a great teacher, very trustworthy, responsible, and organized hard worker and just a wonderful person. My kids loved being in her class, and they still remember her. I am sure that your child will benefit a lot while being Ms. Alicia’s student.”
